METZELER riders dominated the exciting series: Diego Monticelli (TM Racing Factory Team) triumphed in the Overall category while Mickael Bryan Amodeo of the SMX Team won in the S Open class.
The European GP, which took place over this weekend in Busca in the province of Cuneo, concluded the 2020 edition of the European Supermoto Championship and saw METZELER riders triumph in both categories, thanks to the extraordinary performances of the renewed RACETEC ™ SM range.
The riders fought for the title of European Supermoto Champion until the third and final race of the European GP, which represented the last round of the championship, at the Busca International Circuit on a perfectly prepared track in dry and sunny weather conditions. After scoring two silver trophies in Race 1 and 3, and being on the top step of the podium in Race 2, the Italian rider Diego Monticelli on his TM of the TM Racing Factory Team achieved the title of European Supermoto Champion 2020. In the S Open category it was French rider Mickael Bryan Amodeo of the SMX Team, on his Yamaha equipped with METZELER RACETEC SM tyres who took the victory.
Introduced in 2014, RACETEC™ SM is a tyre dedicated to Supermoto competitions that has undergone constant development and refinement work over the years, reflecting the importance that METZELER dedicates to the pursuit of technological excellence applied to the world of racing. RACETEC™ SM adopts advanced racing compounds and high-performance profiles for the most effective straight-line riding or drifting, through on and off road conditions. The carcass has been engineered to provide predictable behaviour, with excellent damping capabilities while the profiles are designed for an easy supermoto riding style, to deliver speed in direction changes and a superior feeling of grip and predictability while drifting.
These results demonstrate the high technological and performance standard achieved by METZELER in the development of its racing tyre range, products that are tested in the toughest and most demanding conditions and races such as the Isle of Man TT, the World Enduro Super Series and the FIM EnduroGP World Championship. These products are then made available to motorcyclists around the world who can regularly buy them from stores.
