The handling of a motorcycle tire is influenced not only by its width, but also by its tire contour.

Large center radius and flat shoulder parts make unwieldy, but bring bearing surface when driving straight ahead and thus mileage (touring tires). Sports tires, on the other hand, have a more pointed contour, which considerably increases the handling.
