Mitas price increase from April 1, 2022

The price increases for Mitas motorcycle tyres  of 15%

Effective from April 2022, Trelleborg Wheel Systems has announced price increases up to 15% on all brands and segments globally.

This price increase is a result of the current market fluctuations and the sharp rise in the cost of raw materials, energy and logistics. Increases will vary by region to reflect the local market conditions.

Specific details on the actual increase will be communicated directly to customers by Company representatives in each market.

In the edition nr13 06/2017, the Europes nr1 magazine "MOTORRAD"  has finally addressed the subject of the motorcycle  tyre age more extensively. Thus, two sets of Michelin Power 2CT DOT 2515 were tested, one of which was stored in a cool and dry place, the second in a direct sun in a greenhouse to make it even faster.

DOT Nummber - "Department of Transportation"  tyre age code

Conclusion: "If the storage conditions are favorable, the tires are durable for many years, but they are often much faster in use. Only in the extreme test in the rain did the performance decrease slightly. "

Tire Age vs. Safety: Inspect Tires, Not Just Dates

The most demanding test was performed by rider Simon Marčič during the arduous 2022 Dakar Rally. He reviewed the mousse in an online video after he successfully finished the race: “This new Mitas Rally Mousse really proved its superior performance in terms of versatility, and resulted in the perfect choice for different types of rally from short to long ones.”

The new Mitas Rally Mousse features a durable compound that is suitable to high speeds and resistant to heat and sharp objects, delivering superior performance on vertical technical sections.

The enormous problems with container shipping from the Far East or South America causes delivery problems up to the interruption of the supply chain, as is currently happening in the Suez Canal with a transverse container ship.

The tire industry is not spared from this either.

Since most motorcycle tires are not produced in Europe, there are already enormous delivery delays.

We therefore recommend all motorcyclists to get a suitable set of motorcycle tires in time, so that they can start the 2021 season without hesitation..

Mitas, part of the Trelleborg Group, celebrates 2020 FIM Speedway Grand Prix World podium finish with Polish hero Bartosz Zmarzlik, Great Britain’s icon Tai Woffinden and Swedish star Fredrik Lindgren, all of which ride Mitas Speedway Competition tires.

Gustavo Pinto Teixeira, Vice President Two Wheels and Specialty Tires, says: “We are pleased to see another great achievement by our riders in the 2020 season. Speedway racing has always had a special place in the heart of Mitas, being the origin of our motorsport activities. We are delighted that the greatest Speedway riders still recognize Mitas as the best choice.”

Mitas, is adding junior motorcycle tires to its extreme enduro range, with new sizes designed for motorcycles from 50cc to 85cc engine displacement.

Gustavo Pinto Teixeira, Vice President Two Wheels and Specialty Tires, explains: “We have always been at the forefront of extreme enduro and
we’re the first manufacturer to add junior sizes to this type of tire range. For the first time, young riders will have a chance to use tires designed for
extreme enduro from the beginning of their racing careers. I’m convinced that this addition will help many young talents grow to become successful
riders.”

Mitas to enhance the extremely popular E-07 tyre range

MITAS E-07 / PLUS

Mitas, part of the Trelleborg Group, enhances its offering to the trail/ adventure segment of the motorcycle market, and due to popular demand reintroduces a number of sizes to its E-07 range alongside the successful E-07+ to give riders in this dynamic segment even more choice.

Gustavo Pinto Teixeira, Vice President Two Wheels and Specialty Tyres, explains:

“The E-07 is a true 50% on-road and 50% off-road adventure tyre. Over its long years of service it has continued to be one of the most desirable choices for adventure riders, as it combines road riding performance and wear with more adventurous off-road trips. Due to its hardwearing compound and optimal performance on- and off-road, the E-07 remains a preferred choice on many journeys across the world.”

The E-07+ is a class-leading 60% on-road and 40% off-road adventure tyre. It is for those riders of larger adventure motorcycles with higher engine displacement and power outputs, who are looking for great off-road performance, as well as improved road performance. Since the tread design is slightly more on-road oriented than the original E-07, both aforementioned requirements are met. A bigger knobby design provides plenty of open space between the tread blocks to displace sand, mud and water from the contact patch, while keeping enough rubber between the road and the rotating tyre.

Selected sizes of E-07 and E-07+ are available in the “Dakar” version (marked with a yellow stripe) featuring a reinforced carcass, higher puncture resistance and harder compound. It is ideal for higher loads, longer adventure trips and extreme conditions.

Both patterns remain fully interchangeable and compatible between front and rear (e.g. E-07 front, E-07+ rear), thereby offering a degree of personalization that only Mitas can offer to the market.

All tubeless (TL) versions of both E-07 and E-07+ can be used with a tube on tube type rims.
