DIABLO POWERCRUISER is Pirelli's sporty interpretation of the Custom-Touring dedicated to sport Cruisers and Baggers.
Pirelli DIABLO POWERCRUISER represents the completely new Custom-Touring line of Pirelli high-performance tyres designed specifically for selected models of sport Cruiser and Bagger machines. With DIABLO POWERCRUISER, Pirelli is aimed both at owners of the new Cruiser and Bagger V-Twin, bikes characterised by searing acceleration and fun to ride, which have become more high-performing over time in terms of torque output and handling. Goodyear's long-term strategy is to use the motorcycle competence center in Montlucon (France) to drive the development of both brands. Many of the Dunlop brand's premium motorcycle tires as well as the racing tires for the Moto2 World Championship™ and the Endurance World Championship (EWC) are developed and produced in Montlucon.
Along with the Indian Challenger, METZELER CRUISETEC will be original equipment tires of the Indian Roadmaster, Chieftain, Springfield and Vintage models. METZELER SPORTEC M9 RR will now be original equipment on the brand new Indian FTR
The technical partnership between the brands METZELER and Indian Motorcycle forges ahead since the first collaboration between the German-born tire brand and the legendary US motorcycle manufacturer happened in 2019. METZELER brand was chosen as the development partner and exclusive supplier for the powerful touring model, the 2020 Indian Challenger. It was an extremely successful project, thanks to the joint work between two brands that share the same philosophies of enhancing their company heritage and at the same time aiming for the highest level of performance, in compliance with the most challenging quality standards.

The collaboration between METZELER and Indian Motorcycle has been strengthened with the German tyre brand chosen as a development partner and supplier for the latest and most powerful bagger of the U.S. motorcycle manufacturer. The METZELER CRUISETEC tyres were selected, after a long process of joint development between the Research & Development and Testing departments of the two brands, resulting in exclusive original equipment designation for the new 2020 Indian Challenger.
CRUISETEC™ tyres, installed with the 130 / 60B19 66H front and 180 / 60R16 80H rear sizes, are equipping all versions of the new Indian Challenger, including the Dark Horse and Limited models.
METZELER has been involved with Indian Motorcycle since the start of the project, actively participating in the development of the motorcycle by offering its contribution to refining and improving the riding experience.
All this has been possible thanks to the collaborative work between the technicians of METZELER and those of Indian® Motorcycle, who have succeeded in establishing a perfect harmony between the CRUISETEC™ tyres and the new Challenger, ultimately creating an inseparable combination. Michelin will showcase its new MICHELIN Commander III tyre line-up for V-Twin Cruisers and Touring bikes throughout the weekend of Oct. 17–20 during Biketoberfest® in Daytona at Bruce Rossmeyer's Harley-Davidson. Available for purchase in 27 sizes starting January 2020, the new custom tire line is the official tire of Daytona Beach Bike Week, the World's Largest Motorcycle Event.
Expanding on the highly acclaimed MICHELIN Commander II tire, the newest addition to the cruiser portfolio is designed to deliver exceptional wet grip and extraordinary durability. The MICHELIN Commander III Touring tire is designed to go the distance for Baggers with excellent wet grip and longevity that is designed to exceed its predecessor with new tread compounds. The MICHELIN Commander III Cruiser tire is engineered to deliver outstanding wet grip without compromising longevity compared to its predecessor. The distinctive tread patterns and patented velvet sidewall designs of the new line enhance the styling of all V-Twin motorcycles.

The custom-designed MICHELIN Scorcher Sport tyres have been selected to equip the first Harley-Davidson LiveWire all-electric motorcycle. The new Michelin Scorcher Sport tire, co-developed and co-branded with Harley-Davidson, is designed to enhance the ride and handling performance of Harley-Davidson’s first electric motorcycle, leading a planned portfolio of electric two-wheelers aimed to establish Harley-Davidson as the leader in the electrification of motorcycles.
The MICHELIN Scorcher Sport tire integrates Michelin’s innovative Dual Compound Technology (2CT and 2CT+), the most advanced compounds ever used in MICHELIN Scorcher tires. These compounds extend the performance of the MICHELIN Scorcher tire range by providing outstanding levels of wet and dry grip. Along with advanced compounds developed through years of sport radial tire innovation and extensive track testing, this technology enables the MICHELIN Scorcher Sport tire to provide wear resistance in the center of the tread with optimized grip on the shoulders, and also features a radial casing tuned specifically to extract the maximum performance from Harley-Davidson’s newest motorcycle.
The distinctive tread pattern and patented velvet sidewall design complement the styling of this innovative Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Michelin invests more than $770 million in research and development annually. For this project, Michelin engineers worked directly with Harley-Davidson for two years to co-design the MICHELIN Scorcher Sport tires specifically for the LiveWire. These tires further illustrate MICHELIN Total Performance, in which Michelin is committed to providing riders with an optimal balance of performances, from riding pleasure to safety to longevity.
The MICHELIN Scorcher Sport-equipped LiveWire will be available in 2019 through select authorized Harley-Davidson dealerships in the United States, Canada and most European countries.
