The new sizes of the METZELER SPORTEC M9 RR range dedicated to adventure segment motorcycles will be available from December.
Launched in 2020, the SPORTEC M9 RR is a Supersport tire designed for sporty bikers who use their motorcycles in all weathers. Initially intended for Supersports, Naked and Crossover motorcycles, equipped in 17 inches, the SPORTEC M9 RR enriches its range with the arrival of the dimensions 120/70 R19 at the front and 170/60 R17 at the rear, dedicated to Most popular road trails, which will now be able to enjoy a sporty driving experience.
These new dimensions have been specially developed to maintain the level of performance perceived on the SPORTEC M9 RR.
The structure has been specially adapted to ensure sporty performance and handling taking into account the dimensions and weight of Trails which are generally taller and heavier than Rodasters or Sporty. For added convenience and maneuverability, engineers designed a specific PET structure for the front, offering lower stiffness than traditional sizes and their RADIUS casing.
The rear compounds (100% Silica on the shoulders and in the center) have been modified to stabilize their behavior at high temperatures, with a Cap & Base structure. The rear center compound is used on all 19-inch front tires for consistent handling.
The profile has also been specially developed to improve the characteristics of the motorcycles for which the product is intended. The 19-inch SPORTEC M9 RR front tires have a slightly more rounded profile than the 17-inch tires, thus meeting the stability requirements of the Trails and their owner.
