Recall for the Dunlop Roadsmart III

Risk of accident with Dunlop Roadsmart III

In a notification published by the European Commission, Goodyear has recalled 477 potentially defective Dunlop motorcycle tyres.
The 2024 season begins for Dunlop with a tire recall: the tread on the Sportmax Roadsmart III sports touring tire can detach, which can lead to loss of control and a fall.

The wording from the manufacturer Goodyear:

"Goodyear-Dunlop has initiated a voluntary recall for the Dunlop Sportmax Roadsmart III motorcycle tire in size 120/70ZR17 M/C (58W) with production weeks 34, 35, 36, 46 and 47 of 2023. The affected tires can be used over identify the following tire identification numbers (TIN): 1DK8B 6F1M 3423, 1DK8B 6F1M 3523, 1DK8B 6F1M 3623, 1DK8B 6F1M 4623 and 1DK8B 6F1M 4723."

The recalled tires are subject to a manufacturing deviation and are susceptible to tread separation resulting in loss of motorcycle control.

There have been no reports of accidents, loss of control, damage or injuries associated with the recalled tires. This program is part of the company's commitment to product quality and safety.

Any unsold recall tires in their inventory may not be sold and must be returned to Goodyear. All recall tires that have not yet been sold will be exchanged free of charge

or refunded.

Any end users who may have purchased recalled tires should be contacted immediately

so that you can arrange an appointment to have the tires replaced at your company as quickly as possible

can. We are happy to contact these end users directly if you are willing to let us know

provide contact details. If an end user comes to you with a vehicle equipped with one of the recalled tires, the tires should be removed from the vehicle and replaced with new tires. Please ask

Make sure you have replacement tires in stock for the recalled tires you sold.

Tires removed from the vehicle must be returned to Goodyear through the warranty process. This replacement is free of charge for your customers and we will reimburse you for the cost of tire installation.
