The launch of Metzeler’s legendary ‘Classics’ calendar proved to be a fantastic event as the whole of the Metzeler community turned out to enjoy the show and celebrate the world unveiling of the latest in a long line of iconic calendars.
LONDON (United Kingdom) November 26th, 2010 - Launched at the world famous Ace Café in London on 26th November, even the Rockers were surprised by the show that Metzeler put on – when the Metzeler Community arrives you had better be ready to join in with the fun!
The launch also signaled the extension of the ‘Ride Experience’, as a UK presence. The ‘Ride Experience’ is a new concept combining the passion for motorcycling with an online community for blogging, video, riding routes, online debate and the ability to exchange views and tips. From January 2011, Metzeler will extend this popular blogging idea from Italy, Spain and Germany to both the UK and France via www.ridexperience.com and www.ridexperience.fr
While a Rock ‘n’ Roll band belted out music, everyone from Metzeler dealers and customers to famous racers such as TT star Guy Martin and Terry Rymer (the ex-Superbike racer and now member of the Metzeler sales force) joined in the party. As well as the usual collection of fascinating motorcycles that the Ace Café attracts, Metzeler brought along its own displays including some stunning custom bikes and one-off Harley-Davidson specials.
But it wouldn’t be the Ace Café without a generous helping of speed, and one of the stars of the show was the new BMW S1000RR, a bike that has rewritten the rules when it comes to production sport bikes. Despite being the most powerful bike in its class, BMW were confident enough in the performance of Metzeler’s Interact tyres to equip the S1000RR with these as its original equipment - a unanimous vote of confidence in the product.
However as well as racetrack performance, Metzeler is keen to stress the message of safety as top Guy Martin and Terry Rymer joined in with Bikesafe to discuss how to improve all aspects of safety for motorcyclists. As a community, safety is a subject close to all our hearts.
