An evolution of the V01, the Battlax V02 from Bridgestone is a real podium contender. It promises to deliver faster lap times and longer tyre life for superbike riders, and is derived directly from their MotoGP experience using the latest construction and compound technologies.

The rear tyre”s new GP-belt construction takes grip and stability to an all new level by optimising the contact patch and increasing contact pressure. The new soft compound provides additional grip across the entire temperature range, increasing warm-up performance and giving riders a safe and confident feeling. During testing the Battlax V02′s consistency and improved grip delivered lap times which were over 1 second faster than the current V01.

BRIDGESTONE BATTLAX SLICK

The aim of the upgrade of Battlax Racing R10 is to provide faster lap times by improving the front tyre cornering speed and adding traction grip and consistency to the rear. To reach these targets, Bridgestone optimized the construction of the front (size 120/70R17) to provide a 10% bigger contact patch, which increases lateral grip. This extra cornering grip gives the rider more flexibility in the choice of line and an earlier clipping point, leading to faster exits and quicker cornering. At the same time, optimization of the rear compound gives the Battlax Racing R10 EVO a noticeable side and traction grip across the whole temperature range, longer tyre life and more consistent performance compared to its predecessor.

Bridgestone has introduced the Racing Battlax V01 racing slick, designed for novices and medium class riders on race circuits. Leveraging Bridgestone’s latest MotoGP compound and contact area technologies, Battlax V01 gives riders the advantage of quick handling, superb cornering, and warm-up performance that will boost any racers’ confidence.

Bridgestone developed new compounds for the Racing Battlax V01, optimising the blend for maximum grip across the selected temperature range. The front V01 tyre with mono-spiral belt construction has a single crown radius providing high stability under the lean angle, while the smaller dual crown radius on the rear improves grip and smoothness.

Compared to the preceding Battlax R01/R02 combination, the V01 has higher construction stiffness and contact feel, producing better lateral grip for cornering. In-house comparative testing shows big improvements in handling, cornering stability and chattering (excessive vibration), with much quicker warm-up performance and significant gains in best and average lap times.

As exclusive tyre supplier to MotoGP racing, Bridgestone works with the best riders, teams and engineers in the world. With an enormous amount of tyre data and experience from MotoGP racing in all conditions and temperatures, Bridgestone has developed advanced racing tyre technologies which it now transfers to its Battlax range of premium track and road tyres.
