The Sportsman from Schwalbe is the first sport touring scooter tire with dual-compound. It makes the sporty all-rounder durable with excellent cornering grip- contradictory properties that are not achieved with only one compound at this high level.
Schwalbe designed the Sportsman in the size 3.50-10 for classic scooters - some for Lambretta and Vespa - as they are popular, especially in England. But the all-round tire is of course for all scooters of this size.
"The Sportsman makes scooter riding a little safer," says Schwalbe Product Manager Marcus Lambertz. This is made possible by the dual-compound, a combination of two special rubber compounds. In the middle of the tread rolls a very durable, abrasion-resistant compound. On the shoulders there is a rubber mix optimised for safe handling in corners. "It is the combination of these two different rubber compounds that achieves this excellence," says Marcus Lambertz. This means that the tire is suitable for both sporty riding and for longer trips. The dynamic, directional tread pattern design reinforces the sporty look.
