MICHELIN ANAKEE WILD - BUYING TIP FOR OFF-ROAD
The Michelin only gets a satisfactory rating overall, as it is weak in terms of mileage and wet conditions.
But in the off-road category, which is actually the focus of this test, the Anakee Wild is the test winner.

CONCLUSION: The top performance off-road is beyond any doubt. In return, many disadvantages in everyday use on normal roads must be accepted. For an on-off-roader, the Anakee Wild is designed very sharply.

PIRELLI SCORPION RALLY - BUYING TIP FOR EVERYDAY USE
CONCLUSION: Its balance makes it clearly one of the best on/off-road tires in this test field. Brilliant performance on the road paired with good off-road properties and a top performance on wet asphalt.

MITAS E-07+ - 1ST PLACE COUNTRY ROAD
CONCLUSION: If you want to combine road performance with a robust look, you should go for the newcomer from Mitas. On-road, the E-07+ is impressive when cornering, but off-road the terrain must not be too rough. Top wear.

CONTINENTAL TKC 80 - 1ST PLACE WEAR
CONCLUSION: The classic in this segment doesn't really look old even after more than 3 decades and impresses with balanced properties on asphalt, top off-road performance and the best wear values.

METZELER KAROO 3 - OVERALL RATING GOOD
CONCLUSION: The Karoo 3 is clearly geared towards the road, where it does a good job even in adverse conditions, for example in the rain or on loose chippings. Serious off-road riding is not its thing, however.

BRIDGESTONE AX41 - OVERALL RATING GOOD
CONCLUSION: A tip for off-road oriented touring enduro riders. The disadvantages on asphalt roads are minimal, but on the plus side there is superior off-road performance, sufficient grip in the rain and low wear values.

Part 2 in issue 13/2019 tests the much more road-oriented tires.
approx. 20% / 80% off-road / road

Testing was carried out in Italy on a 3500 km tour, wear and behavior on country and highways.
The wet test was carried out on the watered handling parkour and on the high-speed oval of the Bridgestone European Proving Ground in Nettuno near Rome.

We would have liked a little off-road excursion in this test, as some manufacturers have also adapted the profile accordingly and there are alternatives to these tires for pure road use.

CONTINENTAL TRAIL ATTACK 3 - very good - test winner
CONCLUSION: Curve junkies clearly rely on the Trail Attack 3, which, with a noticeable development boost, not only sets itself apart from its predecessor, but also leaves the competition behind in everyday use and in terms of wear and tear -

MICHELIN ANAKEE ADVENTURE - very good - test winner RAIN
CONCLUSION: Not the tire for all supersport-oriented touring enduro riders. But a first-class weapon for frequent riders and everyday tourists who take curves. There is no better tire in wet conditions. Who wants to wait for the sun?

PIRELLI SCORPION TRAIL II - very good

CONCLUSION: Sporty, safe, durable - the Pirelli is already a few years old, but can hold its own in the top group in all three categories: that is a great achievement from the Italian "made in Germany"

DUNLOP TRAILSMART MAX - very good

CONCLUSION: Not new but a consistent further development from Dunlop. The Trailsmart Max impresses with its handling and agility on country roads and retains the good properties of its predecessor in the rain.

BRIDGESTONE A41 - good

CONCLUSION: Clearly the tire for long-distance enduro riders who like to let it run and want to have reliable, bolt-resistant rubber. It could be better in terms of handling and wet conditions, but the A41 has no real shortcomings.

METZELER TOURANCE NEXT - good
CONCLUSION: The Tourance Next was the tire for the GS class. But now the oldie has to admit defeat to the younger competition. It is more dynamic, has better grip and wears less. But it remains a good all-rounder.
