Bilbao (Spain) – The new Pirelli Angel GT tyres début on Basque soil in Bilbao for the unveiling of the latest arrival to the Ducati house, the DUCATI Multistrada 1200 S Granturismo. In fact, the new Angel GT sport touring tyre in the 190/55 R17 size on the rear and 120/70 R17 on the front will be standard equipment on this brand new version of the appreciated Borgo Panigale model as yet another demonstration of the strong "made in Italy" partnership between the two companies.
Angel GT conveys Pirelli's maximum DNA levels in terms of performance, which stays high for the entire life of the tyre, as well as remarkable mileage that is at least 15% more than the Angel ST. The typical Pirelli sports attitude and top notch performance on wet roads goes along with this feature thanks to an in depth study of the compounds and geometry as well as the positioning of the grooves in the tread. In fact, the unique nature of the Angel GT lies precisely in the fact that its excellent characteristics suffer limited deterioration as it eats up kilometres, all the way to the end of the product's life cycle. Pirelli sums up this property as “Performance Mileage”. Angel GT is the natural descendant of the Angel ST, a tyre with multiple victories under its belt in the sport touring comparison tests conducted by the most prestigious international motorcycling magazines. Compared to its predecessor, Angel GT substantially increases mileage, grip and handling in the wet and, even more importantly, is able to maintain those properties at a high level over time.
The 195 HP produced by the red fury from Borgo Panigale will hit the ground through the brand new, original equipment Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tyres in 120/70 ZR17 for the front and the fresh new 200/55 ZR17 for the rear. They will also be used starting this year by Superstock 1000 FIM Cup riders in the SC compound version

11 November 2011 – Pirelli announces the world premiere of the new Diablo Supercorsa, the Italian maker’s new tyre perfect for professional riders and motorcyclists who have a sporty riding style but love the racetrack as well. The newest member of the Diablo family is being presented in occasion of EICMA 2011 at the first flagship PZero Moda store opened this past September on the famed Corso Venezia in Milan. The Diablo Supercorsa will be initially produced in the 120/70ZR17 front and 200/55ZR17 rear and will be used in 2012 in the SC (Special Compound) version only by the riders of the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup and these same sizes will also be available in an SP (Sport Production) race replica version suitable for daily use on the road.
Pirelli will progressively introduce this new tyre, first in the racing world with the release of the compound version that will be used in the FIM Superstock 1000 FIM Cup starting next year and then to expand the available range at the end of 2012, introducing a broader range of racing sizes to extend use of the new tyre in various national championships where Pirelli now competes. Finally in early 2013, the road going race replica version will be made available in the common 180/55, 190/55 and 190/50 size for the rear.
Pirelli announces that starting from 2013, it will begin supplying all the tyres for the World Superbike Championship, which currently are produced in 16.5", in the 17" size. January 2010 – Pirelli announces the immediate availability of the new race-replica slick Diablo Superbike PRO on occasion of the pre-season World Superbike tests in Portimão, Portugal. The new tyre represents a natural link for end users to the professional racing world, extending experiences and know-how from years of WSBK activity to those devoted to competition training, trackday riding and racing for fun. All this in a rewarding package focused on performance lasting over multiple weekends, consistency throughout sessions and easy set up.
The latest sport motorcycle tire from Pirelli intended to span both street and track usage As Pirelli gains more knowledge and experience as the spec tire manufacturer for the World Superbike Championship, that technology continues to trickle down to its street-oriented production rubber for sale to the general public. The latest example of that racing development is the company’s new Diablo Rosso Corsa tire that was unveiled at the Milan EICMA show. Intended as a replacement for the Diablo Corsa III tire that debuted back in ‘06, the new Diablo Rosso Corsa is said to exceed its predecessor’s performance in key areas such as overall mileage and grip in both dry and wet conditions. The new Pirelli is credited with three design patents, the foremost being Enhanced Patch Technology (EPT), derived from the company’s extensive WSBK experience for an optimized contact patch area at all lean angles on road and track, providing rider confidence and effective power transfer to the ground in any riding condition. EPT is complemented by the “III zones compound” rear tire, with a new compound in the middle section offering better mileage; ample shoulder zone compound is straight from the WSBK arena. The Diablo Rosso Corsa’s tread pattern includes a slick-like area on the rear shoulders while the tread grooves are selectively concentrated in the centre and shoulders. The aggressive tread design results in quick warm-up and consistent water drainage for great control on wet surfaces.
Pirelli Moto have committed funds and support to 'Get On', the Motorcycle Industry Association campaign to get Britain biking. The company, which is part of Pirelli UK Tyres Ltd, is responsible for Pirelli and Metzeler motorcycle tyre brands in the UK.
The industry wide campaign, which promises to allow people from all over the UK to get on a motorcycle or scooter for the first time, is seen by Pirelli Moto as an important part of the diverse UK market. The company has class leading tyres for all machines including supersport, touring, commuting, off-road and scooters.
The Get On Campaign , which was launched to the trade and media one earlier this month, will promote motorcycling to a wider audience and ultimately give tens of thousands of people a first riding experience, through professional training centres across the UK. The initiative has the full backing of the UK's major motorcycle distributors including BMW, Kawasaki, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Piaggio, Suzuki and Yamaha.
