Avon Tyres has launched its new motorcycle tyre the Cobra Chrome AV91 / AV92 cruising tourer tyre range, now with improved longevity and more fitment options than ever.
It is a replacement for the popular Cobra range which has a well-established reputation in the custom and cruiser segments.
With an advanced construction design, the Cobra Chrome delivers improved stability and durability in all conditions for precise feel and tyre feedback. CM-723/CM-724 are specifically suited to the discipline of enduro racing and are FIM approved. The CM-723, for the front of the bike, has small, irregular and polygonal tread blocks to increase traction, whilst the larger CM-724 has a tread pattern that helps disperse mud and lower rolling resistance. These all illustrate its clear superiority over main competitors Continental Race Attack Comp. Endurance, Dunlop Sportsmart TT and Michelin Power RS.

Now Bosch wants to take things further by introducing anti-slide technology.
Bosch the German technology firm is attempting to use high-pressure gas that's forced out of a nozzle to help right a sliding motorcycle.
The technology being tested isn't new though, and is similar to the technique used by astronauts to navigate in zero gravity. The Bosch anti-slide system uses a device similar to the airbag inflator in cars to provide an external lateral force when the tyres of a motorcycle lose traction. In other words, when a bike begins to slide and fall, pressurised gas thrusters will repulse and straighten the bike.
