Bridgestone has introduced the Racing Battlax V01 racing slick, designed for novices and medium class riders on race circuits. Leveraging Bridgestone’s latest MotoGP compound and contact area technologies, Battlax V01 gives riders the advantage of quick handling, superb cornering, and warm-up performance that will boost any racers’ confidence.
Bridgestone developed new compounds for the Racing Battlax V01, optimising the blend for maximum grip across the selected temperature range. The front V01 tyre with mono-spiral belt construction has a single crown radius providing high stability under the lean angle, while the smaller dual crown radius on the rear improves grip and smoothness.
Compared to the preceding Battlax R01/R02 combination, the V01 has higher construction stiffness and contact feel, producing better lateral grip for cornering. In-house comparative testing shows big improvements in handling, cornering stability and chattering (excessive vibration), with much quicker warm-up performance and significant gains in best and average lap times.
As exclusive tyre supplier to MotoGP racing, Bridgestone works with the best riders, teams and engineers in the world. With an enormous amount of tyre data and experience from MotoGP racing in all conditions and temperatures, Bridgestone has developed advanced racing tyre technologies which it now transfers to its Battlax range of premium track and road tyres.

Metzeler’s newest rubber is designed for riders who love adventure and off road travel, and will replace the MCE Karoo and MCE Karoo T models.
Unveiled today at the EICMA Milan bike show, the new Karoo 3 tyre will be on sale from spring 2013.
The Karoo 3 is ideal for modern, large and medium capacity bikes which have to travel on both Tarmac and off road, like the latest addition to the BMW family, the water-cooled R1200GS, which can be equipped with Karoo 3s – 120/70 R 19 on the front and the brand new 170/60 R 17 on the rear.
The new tyre is highly versatile, capable of guaranteeing high mileage to all those bikers who love to take on mid to long range travel, provide excellent grip off road, plus excellent stability and handling.
Karoo 3 features:
Compounds use high dispersibility components capable of obtaining a more uniform mix that provides mechanical resistance to lacerations, good news for big mileage
The Sportsman from Schwalbe is the first sport touring scooter tire with dual-compound. It makes the sporty all-rounder durable with excellent cornering grip- contradictory properties that are not achieved with only one compound at this high level.
Schwalbe designed the Sportsman in the size 3.50-10 for classic scooters - some for Lambretta and Vespa - as they are popular, especially in England. But the all-round tire is of course for all scooters of this size.
Bilbao (Spain) – The new Pirelli Angel GT tyres début on Basque soil in Bilbao for the unveiling of the latest arrival to the Ducati house, the DUCATI Multistrada 1200 S Granturismo. In fact, the new Angel GT sport touring tyre in the 190/55 R17 size on the rear and 120/70 R17 on the front will be standard equipment on this brand new version of the appreciated Borgo Panigale model as yet another demonstration of the strong "made in Italy" partnership between the two companies.
Angel GT conveys Pirelli's maximum DNA levels in terms of performance, which stays high for the entire life of the tyre, as well as remarkable mileage that is at least 15% more than the Angel ST. The typical Pirelli sports attitude and top notch performance on wet roads goes along with this feature thanks to an in depth study of the compounds and geometry as well as the positioning of the grooves in the tread. In fact, the unique nature of the Angel GT lies precisely in the fact that its excellent characteristics suffer limited deterioration as it eats up kilometres, all the way to the end of the product's life cycle. Pirelli sums up this property as “Performance Mileage”. Angel GT is the natural descendant of the Angel ST, a tyre with multiple victories under its belt in the sport touring comparison tests conducted by the most prestigious international motorcycling magazines. Compared to its predecessor, Angel GT substantially increases mileage, grip and handling in the wet and, even more importantly, is able to maintain those properties at a high level over time.

Metzeler will unveil their new sport touring Tourance™ Next tyres together with the BMW R 1200 GS (E93) at the Intermot exhibition which will be held from 3 to 7 October in Cologne, Germany.
Metzeler has been a BMW development partner for the GS family since 1980 with street enduro products and since 1999 with the Tourance™ family products.
The new Tourance™ Next is the third generation of the Tourance range and was specifically designed for latest generation street enduro and adventure touring bikes.
The new sizes of the Tourance™ Next as original equipment on the BMW R 1200 GS will be the 120/70 R19 M/C and the 170/60 R17 M/C and they were developed directly in cooperation
with the Bavarian manufacturer.
Tourance™ Next sets the new standard for the segment where grip on wet roads is concerned as well as in terms of safety thanks to the new compounds developed for the front and rear
which work in synergy with new grooves arranged optimally on the tread.
This tyre can therefore guarantee excellent grip in the wet, conveying a sensation of total safety to the rider in any condition, even when the asphalt is dirty and slippery.
The structure and profiles of the new Tourance™ Next were specifically designed for large new concept enduro bikes with particular attention to guaranteeing excellent stability even at
high speeds and with the bike loaded down with top box and passenger.
In fact, the profiles were designed to absorb bumps in the asphalt in order to provide greater vehicle stability and for optimal interaction with the ABS and braking system.
The particularly resistant structure of the carcass creates a rigidity which translates into greater and easier handling of the bike.
The combination and interaction of the new tread and latest generation compounds result in a significant improvement compared to its predecessors in the Tourance™ family in terms of mileage thanks to better and more even tread wear.
The innovative tyre, which will be sold from 2014 as exclusive original equipment on the new electric scooter from BMW, minimises roll resistance in favour of greater energy savings
The new scooter tyre from Metzeler Feelgreen has already been chosen as original equipment by BMW for it’s electric C evolution scooter, unveiled today at the international press conference and which will be used by some journalists at the Olympic Games to move around the area. The new electric scooter from BMW will be fitted with the following set of Metzeler Feelgreen tyres: 120/70 -15 (56S) FEELGREEN on the front and 160/60 R15 FEELGREEN on the rear.
There are many factors which affect the energy or fuel consumption of a two-wheeled vehicle and the tyres play a crucial role. Consumption is based on the concept that, in order to move a tyre forward, energy is required. The new Feelgreen from Metzeler was designed to guarantee low energy dissipation. Metzeler engineers worked hard to reduce the weight of the tyre by 17% and the rolling resistance by more than 25% compared to the Metzeler Feelfree. The rolling resistance figure could be even higher once the current perfecting phase ends. The Feelgreen riding performance maintains the characteristic elements that Metzeler products are famous for: quick warm-up and excellent handling, which is indispensable for city riding.
