I change tyres every due to high mileage but also due to assymetric wear on front and rear tiré with Dunlop 406 & 407(2x), and Commander 2 (3x). The Commander 3 Cruiser front tyre has a more oval perfil, assymetric wear disapeared and increased stabile sportier riding with this very heavy motorcycles. The first time I only changed te front and noticed the difference, still having behind the Dunlop 407. I did NOT noticed a second improvement once changed to the Commander 3 rear tiré, but It makes more mileage without assymetric wear. It's hard to tell hoe the do in rain after one or two years but I made a very long mountain tour in rain but clean mountainroads( no oíl or dirt) a d they went perfect, but in Southern Spain with ocasional rain, on wet greasy roads they perform wors than the others I usted. As I resolved 2 problems for my heavy FatBoy I continué with this excellent tyre for dry roads

In my testing, Michelin Commander II tires have demonstrated impressive wear characteristics on both V-twin and V-4 powered motorcycles of comparable weight—a Harley-Davidson XL883R Sportster and a Honda VF700C Magna were the test beds, with the tires lasting longer on the V-4 Magma than the V-twin Sportster. That inevitably led to speculation about how the Michelin Commander III Cruiser tires would compare to the Commander II s on the same XL883R. more >>

After having mounted the Michelin Commander 3, when I hit the numerous sweepers on the 45‑mile trip back to my house, I had a hard time keeping to the conventional wisdom of riding conservatively on new tires. It was almost like the Commander IIIs were pushing me – dare I say, showing off a little. But I refused the temptation. I promise…ahem.

Beyond performance, something else I was looking for in my new tires was longevity. Weighing in at two‑plus bills, I’m not exactly slim, but I’m also not one of those hefty Guiness World Record twins many of us remember seeing sitting on motorcycles in pictures. Nor am I a super aggressive rider, and I diligently check my tire pressure, so I was disappointed when I got less than 4,000 miles out of my previous rear tire.  to the full review >>
